The rupture indicator that can survive the disc's breakage

In all those cases where an industrial plant processes corrosive or aggressive substances, it is often impossible to install a traditional rupture indicator. For this reason, magnetic sensors have been introduced. They couple a disc-mounted actuator with a sensor installed outside of the piping itself, and thus protected from the subestances running through the pipes and from the the consequences of the disc's rupture under excessive pressure.

DonadonSDD's magnetic rupture indicators combine the reliable performance and advantages of magnetic technology with an ATEX certification which allows for their installation even in those plants which present explosion risks and are thus regulated by such stringent standards.

 

NAM03HT

Donadon magnetic NAM 03/HT rupture indicators are recommended for use with our rupture discs.

The NAM 03/HT indicator is composed of:

a magnetic proximity type sensor installed in the corresponding threaded housing downstream in the rupture disc holder to detect opening

a target with a permanent magnet supplied with the disc

When the disc opens the magnet is displaced and the sensor activates. Replacement discs are supplied with a new target.

It can therefore may be used in locations where potentially explosive atmospheres are continually present (classified zones 0, 20 and 1, 21 and 2, 22 according to European Directive 94/9/EC (ATEX)).

NAM 03/HT is normally supplied with 2 metres of bipolar cable. The cables of the alarm system must be connected to the plant’s safety system through an adequate safety barrier.

The organisation and procedures fully comply with the ISO 9001 standard to ensure the utmost quality for our products. Our quality system has also met the stringent requirements of the UNI EN 9100 standard concerning design, development, and manufacture of rupture discs for the aerospace industry.

DonadonSDD products – such as rupture discs, explosion venting panels, and rupture indicators – are certified in compliance with PED directive 2014/68/EU or ATEX directive 2014/34/EU. The rupture discs alone are manufactured, tested, and certified in compliance with ASME directive, Section VIII, Division 1 and carry the relative UD stamp. 

DonadonSDD is subject to inspections carried out by 3-A Sanitary Standard, Inc. (3-A SSI) so that our rupture discs can meet the highest sanitary standards.

Upon request, our clients can ask independent inspectors to certify single batches.
