Pressure reducing valve - PREDU | ARI

The Pressure Reducing Valve - PREDU by ARI is a self-acting valve featuring a diaphragm actuator and external pressure intake, designed for efficient pressure regulation. It boasts a compact, pillar-free construction with flanged ends, ensuring balanced pressure and stem tightness through bellows. The valve allows for easy spring and actuator changes, providing precise adjustments. It offers diverse design combinations, including various pressure adjustment ranges, bellows seal options, and secondary sealing designs. Additional features include an optional flow divider for noise reduction, PTFE sealing, reduced Kvs-values, and a water seal pot. The valve is available in nominal sizes ranging from DN15 to DN150 and supports a design pressure range of PN16-40, with various materials and accessories available.

Datasheet and documents

Description

ARI-PREDU® Pressure Regulating Valve Features:

  • Function: This is a direct-acting proportional regulator, self-operated, used to reduce a high inlet pressure to a smaller downstream pressure.
  • Design:
    • Compact with a diaphragm actuator DMA for precise control.
    • Constructed without pillars for ease of adjustment.
    • The valve includes a stainless steel bellow for pressure balancing and spindle sealing.
    • Multiple actuator and spring sizes available for versatility.

Key Specifications
:

  • Nominal Diameter: Available from DN15 to DN150.
  • Pressure Range:
    • Downstream pressure range from 0.2 bar to 16 bar.
    • The valve can handle PN16, PN25, and PN40 pressures.
  • Flow Capacity (Kvs): The Kvs values range from 0.1 to 280 m³/h depending on the valve size.
  • Leakage Class: Class I as per DIN EN 1349 or DIN EN 60534-4 (≤ 0.05% of Kvs value).
  • Face-to-Face Dimensions: These dimensions vary based on size, and the values are provided in the document for each model from DN15 to DN150.

Actuator Information
:

  • Pneumatic Actuator DMA:
    • DMA 400: Maximum pressure 1.6 bar.
    • DMA 250: Maximum pressure 2.5 bar.
    • DMA 160: Maximum pressure 6 bar.
    • DMA 80: Maximum pressure 10 bar.
    • DMA 40: Maximum pressure 20 bar.
  • Material of Diaphragm: EPDM for temperatures from -40°C to +130°C, NBR for -40°C to +100°C.

Applications
:

  • Used in systems regulating neutral gases, vapors, and liquids, such as steam, water, and other neutral fluids.
  • In case of steam or liquid systems with temperatures higher than the allowable diaphragm temperature, a water seal pot must be installed in the control line.

Sizing and Selection
:

  • myValve Program: Sizing recommendations are available using the myValve program. By inputting process data, the correct figure number, and valve size are recommended from the integrated database.
  • Bypass Valve Sizing: It’s essential to ensure that the bypass valve has a larger capacity than the pressure-regulating valve if it can operate in parallel.

Additional Features
:

  • Flow Divider: Available for noise reduction in some models.
  • Plug with PTFE Soft Seal: This is optional for standard Kvs values.
  • Water Seal Pot: For use in high-temperature systems like steam or hot water.

Materials
:

  • Body Materials: Varies depending on the model: EN-JL1040, EN-JS1049, 1.0619+N stainless steel.
  • Seat Ring: Made from X20Cr13+QT, 1.4021+QT stainless steel for enhanced durability.
